Hey there, Pune folks! In some exciting news, Pune Police has managed to nab a gold chain-snatching duo who were causing quite a ruckus in the city. The two culprits, hailing from outside Pune District, were involved in a chain snatching incident that took place on 11th September.

During their arrest, police managed to recover items worth a whopping Rs 2 lakh. It turns out that the two-wheeler used in the robbery was also stolen from Nashik District. The Detection Branch (DB) of Chaturshringi Police Station really cracked down on these criminals.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sanjay Ramesh Babare, a 29-year-old resident of Ahmednagar, and Rahul Ramesh Mawas, a 24-year-old resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. They are now facing charges under Sections 309 (robbery) and 3(5) (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the BNS Act.

It seems like the police did some serious detective work to catch these guys. They reviewed CCTV footage, received a tip-off from a confidential source, and managed to track down Babare and Mawas, who were hiding out at their relatives’ place in Balewadi. The DB of Chaturshringi Police Station swooped in and made the arrest.

The accused eventually confessed to their crimes, leading to the recovery of stolen goods worth Rs 1 lakh, including a mangalsutra and ornaments. They were also caught with a stolen Pulsar bike, which was used in the robbery and was originally stolen from Nashik.

The city’s top cops, including Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, played a key role in overseeing this operation. The team that led the arrest was a force to be reckoned with, including Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Balkotgi, Police Inspector (Crime) Yuvraj Nandre, and Assistant Police Inspector Narendra Patil.

It’s great to see the Pune Police taking swift action and keeping our streets safe. Kudos to all those involved in bringing these criminals to justice!
