Hey there, Punekars! Looks like Mother Nature had a surprise in store for us today. As if the chilly weather wasn’t enough, rain decided to make an appearance in our city this evening. The India Meteorological Department had actually given us a heads up a few days ago, so we were all prepared for some wet weather.
Around 5 PM today, the rain started pouring down on Pune city and even made its way to Pimpri Chinchwad. Areas like Shivajinagar, Ghorpadi, Aundh, and more were all drenched in rain. While some of us might be enjoying a break from the dry weather, our farmers are feeling the pressure as the untimely rain could cause some damage to their crops. Reports of hailstorms and heavy rain in other parts of Maharashtra are definitely a cause for concern.
But don’t worry, the rain is expected to stick around for the next couple of days before the cold weather makes a comeback. The minimum temperature is expected to drop, so make sure to bundle up. And good news for those of you planning your New Year’s Eve celebrations – the IMD says the rain won’t be crashing your party.
