Hey there, sports fans! Get ready to hear about an inspiring cricket story that will warm your heart. A group of 15 talented young women cricketers from Kashmir Valley recently embarked on a cricket tour to Pune as part of the Sadbhavana project. This initiative, organized by the Chinar Corps in collaboration with the Aseem Foundation, aims to promote sports talent, sportsmanship, and national integration among the youth.

Upon their arrival in Pune, the team wasted no time and headed straight to the MCA sports complex in Gahunje. They had the chance to interact with local young cricketers and were scheduled to play a series of matches during their visit. The highlight of their tour was the first match of the Kashmir-Pune Friendship Trophy, held at the MCA Ground 2 in Gahunje.

Despite coming from subzero temperatures, the Kashmir team showed incredible dedication and passion on the field. Their hard work paid off, as they not only won the admiration of the audience but also the trophy itself. In a heartwarming gesture, the MCA team graciously handed over the trophy to the Kashmir Women Team in recognition of their sportsmanship, perseverance, and resilience.

The match was attended by the Commandant of NDA, who praised the efforts of the Chinar Corps and congratulated them on their commitment to empowering youth from Kashmir. The toss was conducted by sports journalist Sunandan Lele, who shared valuable insights and motivation with the players before the match. The presence of MCA Apex Team members, including the CEO and Secretary, added to the specialness of the occasion and highlighted MCA’s dedication to supporting women’s cricket.

Sarang Gosavi from the Aseem Foundation expressed his gratitude to all those involved in making the initiative a success, especially the Indian Army and MCA for their unwavering support. A moment of reflection was also dedicated to Late Col Manpreet Singh, a charismatic leader who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra last year.

With the spirit of cricket and friendship at the forefront, the Women Cricket Team’s tour to Pune has set the stage for more inspiring moments in the matches to come. This event provides a unique opportunity for Kashmiri women cricketers to break barriers, chase their dreams, and inspire the next generation. Stay tuned for more updates on this heartwarming story!
