Former IAS probationer Puja Khedkar is facing serious allegations of defrauding the public by appearing for the 2021 Civil Services Examination despite being ineligible. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Delhi Police have strongly opposed her anticipatory bail plea, claiming that her actions have compromised the integrity of the civil services examination.

Khedkar, who allegedly misused OBC and disability quota benefits, had exhausted all her attempts by 2020. The Delhi High Court has extended her interim bail and scheduled the next hearing for August 29. The UPSC and Delhi Police have urged the court to reject her bail application, citing a “deep-rooted conspiracy” that needs to be fully investigated.

The UPSC believes that custodial interrogation of Khedkar is necessary to uncover the extent of the fraud, which they suspect involved others as well. The Delhi Police’s status report revealed that Khedkar provided false information about her background and previous attempts at the civil services examination. They also accused her of using forged documents and evading medical tests at AIIMS.

According to the police report, Khedkar had already exhausted all permissible attempts by 2020, making her ineligible for the 2021 examination. They also claimed that she falsely declared her parents as divorced and underreported her mother’s income to qualify for OBC non-creamy layer benefits. Additionally, Khedkar’s family owns numerous luxury cars and properties across Maharashtra.

The police have warned that granting Khedkar anticipatory bail could hinder the investigation and allow her to tamper with evidence. The case has significant implications for public trust and the fairness of the civil services examination. Stay tuned for updates as the case unfolds.
