So, here’s the scoop – a 45-year-old private van driver has been accused of sexually assaulting two young schoolgirls and has been sent to Yerawada Central Jail. The incident reportedly took place on September 30, involving two six-year-old Std I students.
After the confessional statements of the girls were recorded before a magisterial court, the driver was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. The police also spoke to 10 other girls who were travelling in the same van, as well as their parents, but no complaints were made against the driver.
Despite questioning the school authorities, their involvement in the crime was not revealed. However, the police did seize the school van that was allegedly vandalized by five men, four of whom have been arrested.
Interestingly, the van driver reportedly did not have any previous criminal record. The owner of the van stated that the driver had been hired two years ago. Looks like this case is still developing, so stay tuned for more updates as they come in.
