If you’re a nature lover, climber, or trekker planning a trip to the Vasota fort near Pune, you might want to reconsider your plans for the end of December. The popular destination will be off-limits from December 30 to January 1, according to Sahyadri Tiger Project Bamnoli Forest Range Officer Vijay Bathe.

Vasota fort, located in the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary and the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, is a hotspot for tourists from Pune. However, in order to protect the delicate ecosystem of the area, authorities have decided to ban visitors for three days.

Boat clubs that transport tourists to the fort have been warned to comply with the ban or face consequences. Any illegal transport reported will result in action being taken against the violators, Bathe stated.

So, if you were planning a trip to Vasota fort during the New Year’s holiday, it might be best to make alternative plans. Let’s all do our part to preserve and protect our beautiful natural surroundings!
