Market Yard in Pune witnessed a significant drop in wholesale prices of vegetables like onions, peas, shevga, and potatoes due to increased supply. While these items saw reduced rates, prices of other vegetables and fruits remained stable, with certain fruits experiencing a price hike.

On Sunday, the wholesale market received a large number of trucks loaded with fruits and vegetables from Maharashtra and neighboring states. The arrivals included green chilies, cabbage, ghevda, pavta, peas, carrots, shevga, onions, potatoes, ginger, okra, tomatoes, red pumpkin, dhobal chilies, cucumber, and cauliflower, boosting vegetable supplies.

The prices of leafy vegetables also dropped significantly, leading to an increase in demand. Wholesale rates for coriander, fenugreek, shepu, spinach, and mint were reported to be within certain ranges per 100 bundles. Other leafy vegetables like amaranth, safflower leaves, flax leaves, and roots also maintained stable prices.

In the fruit market, there was a price increase in lemons, pomegranates, melons, papayas, and custard apples, while oranges, mangoes, pineapples, and chickpeas kept stable prices. The increased arrivals of fruits and vegetables have stabilized certain prices, ensuring adequate availability for the festive season.

Overall, the influx of produce has brought temporary relief to consumers and maintained a steady supply chain in the market.
