Attention all commuters in the Wagholi area! The Pune Traffic Department has just issued a new directive to tackle the traffic congestion at Kesnand Phata petrol pump. Private travel agency buses are no longer allowed to halt or park along the stretch from Wagheshwar Chowk to Bakori Phata.

If you’ve ever been stuck in traffic due to these buses picking up passengers on the highway, you’ll be relieved to know that Deputy Commissioner Rohidas Pawar has taken action. This temporary order aims to ease the flow of traffic during the evening and night hours, when the congestion is at its peak.

But before the final order is issued, the public has a chance to weigh in. Deputy Commissioner Pawar is encouraging residents to share their objections or recommendations in writing by June 18. This way, the community’s feedback can be taken into consideration before any permanent changes are made.

With the road at Kesnand Phata being so narrow, the influx of private travel buses has only worsened the traffic situation. These buses operate daily, transporting passengers to various regions like Nagar, Marathwada, Vidarbha, and Khandesh. The Bharat Petrol Pump at Kesnand Phata has become a major pickup point, leading to gridlock during peak hours.

For now, the temporary order prohibits travel buses from halting or parking along the designated stretch. However, essential service vehicles like fire brigade trucks, police cars, and ambulances will be exempt from this rule. Stay tuned for the final order, which will take into account the public’s input and aim to improve traffic management in the area.
