The residents of Koregaon Park were left in distress as a water supply pipe burst, causing a wastage of lakhs of liters of water. The incident took place on Tuesday morning while a JCB machine was being used for the construction of the Sadhu Vaswani bridge. Despite the prompt notification to the PMC, water supply on both sides of South Main Road and North Main Road in Koregaon Park was disrupted.
The low water pressure in the morning alerted residents to the issue, and after the supply resumed, a significant amount of water began leaking from the burst pipe. Efforts to extract water from the pit only worsened the situation, leading to a large flow of water even after the supply was shut off.
The PMC worked tirelessly to repair the burst pipe, starting in the afternoon and continuing late into the night. Despite the challenges in locating the exact source of the leak, the repair work was eventually completed. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining infrastructure to prevent such wastage in the future.
