Good news for residents in Pune! The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that water from storage tanks in areas affected by the Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) outbreak has been deemed safe for consumption. This comes as a relief to many concerned citizens in the Sinhagad Road area.
The PMC conducted water quality tests in various locations, including Kirkatwadi, Nandoshi, Dhayreshwar, Samarth Mandir, and Sanaswadi, and found that the water is potable and free from harmful bacteria. Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B.P. stated that the tests conducted at the state public health laboratory showed zero counts of coliform, thermotolerant bacteria, and E. coli, indicating that the water is safe to drink.
Residents in the affected areas had been worried about the water quality due to the increasing number of GBS cases. The PMC had already taken preventive measures and inspected water sources in the region before conducting these tests.
While the water has been declared safe, the PMC is closely monitoring the situation and investigating other potential causes of the GBS outbreak. Health officials are reminding residents to practice good hygiene and report any unusual symptoms promptly.
The GBS outbreak has been a concern in several areas along Sinhagad Road, with cases on the rise. The PMC and health authorities are working together to contain the spread and provide treatment to those affected. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing situation.
