Hey Pune folks, have you been stuck in traffic on the Katraj-Kondhwa Road lately? Well, turns out the delays in land acquisition for this important stretch of road are causing more than just traffic jams.
Residents from Upper Indira Nagar to NIBM Road to Tukai Nagar areas are suffering due to the delayed 24X7 water supply work. The road work has been delayed due to initial problems in the tender process and later, issues with land acquisition. The estimated cost has also tripled from the initial budget.
Water tanks have been built in various areas under the 24X7 water supply project, but due to the delay in land acquisition for road widening, water cannot be supplied to several tanks. Residents in these areas are facing water scarcity and are forced to purchase water from private tanker owners, spending lakhs of rupees annually.
It seems like the leaders are not paying attention to the plight of the common people who are struggling with water issues. With the demand for water increasing due to the real estate boom in the area, residents are left wondering why the water pipeline work has been delayed. Hopefully, the authorities will take swift action to resolve this issue and provide the much-needed water supply to the affected areas.
