Hey there, folks! Let’s talk about some recent wildlife news coming out of Pune. In a joint effort between the Pune Forest Division and the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), a bust was made in the Mandai area of Pune. Sounds like something out of a movie, right?

Two people got caught red-handed with some illegal wildlife goods, including porcupine quills and the private parts of a monitor lizard. Yikes! These items are definitely not something you see on your average shopping list. Turns out, this is a big no-no under the Wildlife Protection Act from way back in 1972.

The authorities are not taking this lightly. They have registered a wildlife offence and are now digging deeper into the case. A whole squad of forest officials, led by ACF Mangesh Tate and RFO Suresh Varak, is on the case. These guys mean business.

CCF Pune N. R. Praveen and DCF Pune Mahadev Mohite were overseeing the operation, and they want us to do our part too. They’re asking the public to keep an eye out for any shady wildlife-related activities and report them ASAP. After all, we need to protect those endangered species and keep our biodiversity intact.

So, stay vigilant, Pune! Let’s all work together to keep our wildlife safe and sound.
