Hey there, folks! Sad news coming out of Bopodi today as a young man lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway. The incident involved a dumper and two young men on a two-wheeler.
The deceased has been identified as Kashinath Ambadas Gawandi, a 24-year-old resident of Bibwewadi. His companion, Shivanand Rajshekhar Ganmukhi, also 24, was seriously injured in the collision. The dumper driver fled the scene, leaving the victims in critical condition.
Shivanand, who hails from Upper Indira Nagar, has filed a complaint with the Khadki Police Station, leading to a case being registered against the unknown driver. The two friends were on their way to their village when tragedy struck near Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk in Bopodi.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Kashinath could not be saved, while Shivanand is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries. The investigation is being handled by Police Sub-Inspector Arjun Bendgude of the Khadki Police Station.
