A young man in debt decided to take a drastic step and attempted suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in the Katraj area. The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have wasted no time and registered a case in this regard.
According to Senior Police Inspector Dashrath Patil, the incident came to light when patrolling officers received a distressing call about an injured youth at Katraj Ghat around 10 PM. The police acted swiftly and got the youth admitted to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment. Initially, the young man claimed that he was attacked by thieves who shot at him when he refused to give them money.
However, things took a different turn when the police decided to review CCTV footage from the area. Upon further questioning, the youth admitted that he had actually tried to take his own life due to financial troubles. It’s a sad situation, indeed. The police are now digging deeper to find out where the country-made pistol in his possession came from.
